Tips for success
For the crispiest wraps, use a heavy-bottomed skillet and make sure it's hot before adding the wraps. Do not move them too early; let them cook undisturbed for the full 2 minutes per side.
This allows the tortilla to develop a deep golden crust. If you like extra crunch, you can brush the outside of the wraps with melted butter before toasting.
The garlic parmesan cream can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. When reheating, gently warm it on the stove with a splash of cream or milk to restore its silky texture. This sauce also works well over pasta or as a dip for breadsticks. For a spicier version, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce.
Variations
- Spicy Buffalo: Add 2 tablespoons of buffalo sauce to the garlic parmesan cream along with a pinch of cayenne. Use blue cheese crumbles instead of mozzarella for a tangy kick.
- Bacon Ranch: Stir in 1/2 cup of cooked, crumbled bacon and 1 tablespoon of ranch seasoning into the chicken mixture. Replace the parmesan with shredded cheddar for a smoky flavor.
- Spinach and Artichoke: Fold 1 cup of chopped spinach and 1/2 cup of chopped artichoke hearts into the chicken mixture. Use a blend of mozzarella and cream cheese for extra creaminess.
- Mushroom Swiss: Sauté 1 cup of sliced mushrooms with the chicken and add 1/2 cup of shredded Swiss cheese to the filling. Omit the parmesan and use a splash of white wine in the sauce.
Storage and make-ahead
- Fridge
- Store leftover wraps in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in a skillet or air fryer to restore crispness.
- Freezer
- Assembled wraps can be frozen before toasting. Wrap each tightly in plastic wrap and place in a freezer bag for up to 2 months.
- Reheat
- To reheat, place wraps in a skillet over medium heat for 3-4 minutes per side, or in an air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for 5 minutes.
Leftover wraps can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To maintain crispness, reheat them in a skillet over medium heat for a few minutes on each side, or in an air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for 3-4 minutes.
Avoid microwaving, as it will make the tortillas soggy. If storing the sauce separately, keep it in a jar and reheat gently.
The chicken can be cooked and the sauce prepared up to 2 days in advance. Store them separately in the refrigerator. When ready to serve, reheat the chicken and sauce together in a skillet, then assemble and toast the wraps.
This makes weeknight dinners even quicker, as the filling is already done and the wraps take only a few minutes to crisp up.
Serving ideas
Serve the crispy chicken Alfredo wraps hot, straight from the skillet. Slice them in half diagonally to show the gooey, cheesy interior.
Arrange them on a platter with a small bowl of extra garlic parmesan cream for dipping. The wraps are satisfying on their own, but they also pair well with a simple green salad or roasted vegetables.
For a fun dinner spread, offer additional toppings like chopped fresh parsley, a sprinkle of red pepper flakes, or a drizzle of hot sauce. These wraps are also great for game day or casual gatherings, as they can be made ahead and kept warm in a low oven. Just be sure to serve them within an hour for the best texture.

Crispy Chicken Alfredo Wrap with Garlic Parmesan Cream

Ingredients
- 2 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast, sliced
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp avocado oil, divided
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 4 large flour tortillas
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 tbsp butter, for toasting
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix the garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and salt. Sprinkle the seasoning over the sliced chicken breast and toss to coat evenly. Heat 1 tablespoon of the avocado oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken in a single layer and cook without stirring for 2-3 minutes until browned, then flip and cook the other side until the chicken is cooked through and reaches 165°F (74°C). Transfer the chicken to a plate and set aside.
- In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium. Add the butter and let it melt. Add the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Pour in the heavy whipping cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in the grated parmesan cheese and continue to whisk until the sauce thickens and becomes velvety, about 2-3 minutes. Season with a pinch of salt if needed. Remove from heat and set aside.
- Add the cooked chicken back to the skillet with the garlic parmesan cream. Stir to coat every piece of chicken with the sauce. Let it warm through for a minute. The mixture should be thick and creamy, not runny. If it seems too thin, let it simmer for another minute to reduce slightly. Turn off the heat and allow the mixture to cool for a couple of minutes so it's easier to handle when filling the tortillas.
- Lay a flour tortilla on a clean work surface. Spoon about one-quarter of the chicken Alfredo mixture onto the center of the tortilla. Sprinkle with a generous amount of shredded mozzarella cheese. Fold the sides of the tortilla over the filling, then roll it up tightly from the bottom to form a secure wrap. Repeat with the remaining tortillas and filling.
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the remaining 1 tablespoon of avocado oil. Place the wraps seam-side down in the skillet. Cook for 2 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy. If your skillet is small, work in batches. Add the butter for toasting to the skillet as needed, letting it melt and coat the wraps as they cook.
- Slice the crispy wraps in half if desired. Serve immediately with extra garlic parmesan cream on the side for dipping. The wraps are best enjoyed right away while the exterior is crunchy and the inside is molten and cheesy.
