Editorial Policy

This page explains how the recipes on Allquickyrecipes are made, what is checked before they are published and what we do not claim.

How a recipe is written

  • A short cooking video as the source. Every new recipe starts from a short video in which the dish is prepared.
  • The dish is described again, in our format. Its ingredients, steps and cues are written up afresh as a recipe in three parts, in English, French or Spanish, with the units used in that section.
  • Written from the video. The text is written from what the video shows. Amounts and times that the video does not show are estimated at this stage. Safe internal temperatures are not estimated: they follow USDA minimums.
  • Images. The pictures that illustrate a recipe come from its video or are created for it. They are not photos of a dish we cooked ourselves.
  • Signed with a pen name. Recipes are signed Clara Weller, a pen name (see About).

What is checked before publication

Every new recipe goes through automatic checks before it is published. A recipe that fails one of them is rejected until it is fixed. The checks are:

  • every ingredient has a quantity, or is marked “to taste”, “for serving” or optional;
  • every listed ingredient is used in at least one step, and the ingredients each step declares are all in the list;
  • prep time + cook time + resting time = total time;
  • when the ingredient list names raw poultry, meat, fish or shellfish (keyword check), or the dish is declared an egg dish, the steps give a safe internal temperature at or above the USDA minimum;
  • common allergens detected by keyword in the ingredient list must be declared;
  • recipes in French and Spanish use metric measures: no cups, ounces, pounds or degrees Fahrenheit;
  • no first-person anecdotes, no links and no ratings or reviews (checked against word lists);
  • nutrition appears only as a labeled estimate, and the calories must be within 25% of what the protein, carbohydrates and fat add up to;
  • images come only from a short list of authorized servers, and each one has alt text.

These checks are automatic and mostly keyword-based, so they can miss things: an unusual ingredient name, a hidden allergen or a wrong quantity may go unnoticed. Read a recipe through before you start, and use your own judgment.

What we do not claim

We do not claim that our recipes were cooked and tasted before publication, that a person has reviewed each one, or that readers have tried them. Nutrition figures are estimates: they do not come from a laboratory and have not been checked by a nutrition professional. No recipe is guaranteed to be free of any allergen. We show no ratings, reviews or prizes.

Food safety

Our minimum internal temperatures follow the guidance of the USDA (the U.S. Department of Agriculture). The food safety and nutrition page lists them, along with the basics of safe food handling.

Archive recipes

Archive recipes come from an earlier version of this site. They predate this process and have not been through these checks. We keep them online without rewriting them: outdated elements such as star ratings and placeholder figures are removed, and so are their first-person passages, which do not describe real events, whenever they can be detected automatically. Some old wording may remain.

Corrections and removals

If you spot an error, such as a missing ingredient, a wrong quantity or a time that does not work, write to contact@allquickyrecipes.com with the link to the recipe and what you noticed. We fix confirmed errors. If you believe a recipe or an image infringes your rights, write to the same address: we remove content when a request is justified.

Advertising

The site is funded by ads served by HB Agency and its partners. Advertising has no say in which recipes we publish or what they contain: advertisers do not choose, sponsor or edit recipes, and recipes contain no affiliate links.

Who is responsible

Allquickyrecipes is run by its publisher, who signs the recipes with the pen name Clara Weller. You can reach the publisher at contact@allquickyrecipes.com.
