Tips for success
For the best texture, do not stir the ingredients during cooking—this keeps the ravioli intact and allows the cheese to form a crust.
If you prefer a saucier result, add an extra 1/2 cup of vodka sauce. For a touch of freshness, sprinkle chopped parsley or basil over the top before serving.
To get a golden, bubbly top, transfer the cooked dish to a broiler-safe pan and broil for 2–3 minutes, watching closely to avoid burning.
This adds a deliciously crispy cheese layer that elevates the dish. If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
Variations
- Spicy Sausage Version: Swap the chicken for 1 pound of cooked Italian sausage, sliced, and use a spicy vodka sauce. The sausage adds a savory, slightly spicy kick that pairs well with the creamy sauce and cheese.
- Vegetarian Option: Replace the chicken with 2 cups of baby spinach and 1 cup of sliced mushrooms. Sauté the mushrooms first, then layer with the ravioli and sauce. Cook for 2–3 hours on low, until the ravioli are tender.
- Garlic Butter Twist: Add 2 tablespoons of melted butter mixed with 3 minced garlic cloves to the sauce before pouring it over the ravioli. This adds a rich, aromatic flavor that complements the cheese and chicken.
- Baked Casserole: After slow cooking, transfer the mixture to a baking dish, top with extra cheese, and bake at 375°F for 10–15 minutes until bubbly and golden. This gives a crispy, oven-baked finish.
Storage and make-ahead
- Fridge
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat gently, adding a splash of milk or broth to keep the sauce creamy.
- Freezer
- Freeze cooled leftovers in a freezer-safe container for up to 2 months. Thaw overnight in the fridge and reheat in the microwave or on the stovetop.
- Reheat
- Reheat individual portions in the microwave for 2–3 minutes, or reheat the whole dish in a saucepan over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, until hot.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently in the microwave or on the stovetop with a splash of water or milk to loosen the sauce. The dish can also be frozen, but the texture of the ravioli may soften upon reheating.
You can assemble the uncooked layers in the slow cooker insert and refrigerate overnight.
In the morning, place the insert in the slow cooker and cook as directed, adding about 30 minutes to the cooking time. This makes it even easier to have dinner ready at the end of a busy day.
Serving ideas
Serve this dish hot, straight from the slow cooker, with a simple green salad and crusty bread to soak up the extra sauce.
It is a complete meal in itself, but a side of roasted vegetables or garlic bread would also be lovely. The creamy, cheesy pasta is comforting and satisfying on its own.
For a lighter option, pair it with a crisp arugula salad dressed with lemon vinaigrette. The acidity of the salad balances the richness of the vodka sauce. This dish is also great for feeding a crowd—just double the recipe and use a larger slow cooker.

Parmesan Chicken Vodka Ravioli Crockpot Dinner

Ingredients
- 2 lb boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized cubes
- 20 oz jumbo four-cheese ravioli (fresh or frozen)
- 24 oz vodka sauce
- 1 1/2 cups shredded Italian four-cheese blend
- 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmigiano-Reggiano
Instructions
- Place the cubed chicken breasts in an even layer in the bottom of a 6-quart slow cooker. Spread the jumbo four-cheese ravioli over the chicken, making sure they are mostly in a single layer. Pour the vodka sauce over the top, covering the ravioli and chicken as evenly as possible.
- Sprinkle the shredded Italian four-cheese blend evenly over the sauce, followed by the freshly grated Parmigiano-Reggiano. Do not stir—the cheese layer will melt into a golden crust as it cooks.
- Cover the slow cooker and cook on LOW for 3 to 4 hours, or on HIGH for 1 1/2 to 2 hours, until the chicken is cooked through and the ravioli are tender. The chicken is done when it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
- Once cooked, turn off the slow cooker. Use a large spoon to gently stir the mixture, being careful not to break the ravioli. Serve hot directly from the slow cooker or transfer to a serving dish. Garnish with extra Parmesan if desired.
