Tips for success
For the ultimate cheese pull, use a combination of mozzarella and a little provolone or fontina, which melt even more stretchily.
If you prefer a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the Alfredo sauce. To keep the bread extra crispy, serve it immediately after broiling; waiting too long can soften the crust.
When slicing the finished bread, use a serrated knife and a gentle sawing motion to avoid squishing the toppings. If making this for a party, cut into smaller squares and serve with toothpicks.
Leftovers can be reheated in a toaster oven or under the broiler to restore some crunch, but the bread will be softer the next day.
Variations
- Spicy Chicken Alfredo Bread: Add 1/2 teaspoon of red pepper flakes to the spice rub and a drizzle of hot honey after broiling for a sweet-heat twist. Use pepper jack cheese instead of mozzarella for extra kick.
- Mushroom Alfredo Garlic Bread: Sauté 8 oz sliced mushrooms in the skillet after cooking the chicken, then proceed with the sauce. The mushrooms add an earthy depth that complements the creamy Alfredo.
- Bacon Ranch Chicken Bread: Top the assembled bread with 4 slices of cooked, crumbled bacon before broiling. Swap the Alfredo sauce for ranch dressing mixed with a little cream for a different flavor profile.
- Vegetarian Garlic Bread: Omit the chicken and add roasted bell peppers, artichoke hearts, and spinach to the sauce. Use a mix of mozzarella and feta for a Mediterranean-inspired version.

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, place on a baking sheet and warm in a 350°F (175°C) oven for 5-7 minutes, or until heated through and the cheese is melted. Avoid microwaving, as it will make the bread soggy.
The chicken can be seasoned and cooked up to 2 days ahead, then sliced and refrigerated. The Alfredo sauce can also be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days; reheat gently on the stovetop, adding a splash of cream if needed. Assemble and broil just before serving for the best texture.
Serving ideas
Serve this Chicken Alfredo Garlic Bread as a hearty main dish with a crisp green salad tossed in a light vinaigrette to balance the richness.
It also pairs well with roasted vegetables or a simple tomato soup for dipping. Cut into generous slices and serve warm, pulling apart the cheesy strands for that dramatic, satisfying moment.
For a game-day spread, cut the bread into smaller pieces and arrange on a platter. The contrast of crunchy bread, creamy sauce, and blistered cheese makes it an irresistible finger food.
Provide extra napkins—this dish is deliciously messy. Pair with a cold beer or a sparkling water with lemon to cut through the creaminess.

Crispy Chicken Alfredo Garlic Bread

Ingredients
- 1 lb chicken breast cutlets, pounded
- 1 tbsp smoked paprika
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- Black pepper to taste
- Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp butter, for searing
- 2 tbsp minced garlic
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1 French loaf, halved lengthwise
- Roasted garlic herb butter, for spreading, to taste
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- Pat the chicken breast cutlets dry with paper towels. In a small bowl, combine the smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt. Rub the spice mixture evenly over both sides of the chicken. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt the butter. Add the chicken and cook for 3 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and let rest for 3 minutes before slicing.
- In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium. Add the butter and minced garlic, and cook for 1 minute until fragrant. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in the grated parmesan and cook for 2–3 minutes, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens slightly. Remove from heat.
- Transfer the rested chicken to a cutting board. Using a sharp knife, slice the chicken into 1/2-inch strips. Set aside.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the halved French loaf cut-side up on a baking sheet. Spread the roasted garlic herb butter evenly over both halves. Bake for 7 minutes, until the edges are golden and the bread is crisp.
- Remove the toasted bread from the oven. Arrange the sliced chicken evenly over both halves. Pour the Alfredo sauce over the chicken, spreading it to the edges. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella over the top, covering the sauce completely.
- Switch the oven to broil. Place the baking sheet back in the oven and broil for 3 minutes, until the cheese is melted, bubbling, and blistered in spots. Keep a close eye to prevent burning.
- Remove the baking sheet from the oven. Let the bread rest for 2 minutes. Using a sharp knife, cut the bread into batons or slices. Serve hot, pulling apart for the cheese pull.
