Tips for success
For the crispiest chicken, make sure the oil is hot before adding the strips—test by dropping a breadcrumb in; it should sizzle immediately.
Use a meat thermometer to check the chicken's internal temperature without cutting into it, which keeps the juices sealed. Let the cooked chicken rest for a couple of minutes before assembling to prevent the salad from wilting.
When toasting the wraps, press down gently with a spatula to ensure even contact with the skillet. This creates a uniform golden crust.
If making multiple wraps, keep the cooked ones warm in a low oven while toasting the rest. Slice the wraps diagonally for a nice presentation and to make them easier to dip.
Variations
- Buffalo Chicken Wrap: Toss the cooked chicken tenders in buffalo sauce before assembling, and use blue cheese dressing instead of Caesar for a spicy, tangy twist.
- Grilled Chicken Wrap: Skip the breading and grill the seasoned chicken strips instead. Use a whole wheat tortilla and add sliced avocado for extra creaminess.
- Veggie Caesar Wrap: Replace the chicken with crispy tofu or chickpeas for a vegetarian version. Coat them in the same seasoned panko and pan-fry until golden.
- BBQ Chicken Wrap: Swap the chili powder for BBQ seasoning, and mix a little BBQ sauce into the Caesar dressing. Add crispy onions for extra crunch.
Storage and make-ahead
- Fridge
- Store leftover wraps in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in a skillet to restore crispness.
- Freezer
- Freeze cooked, cooled wraps individually in plastic wrap for up to 1 month. Thaw overnight in the refrigerator before reheating.
- Reheat
- Reheat frozen or refrigerated wraps in a toaster oven or skillet over medium heat until hot and crispy, about 5 minutes per side.
Store leftover wraps in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. To keep the tortillas from becoming soggy, store the filling separately if possible. Reheat in a skillet or toaster oven to restore crispness.
The seasoned and breaded chicken strips can be prepared up to 24 hours in advance and kept in the refrigerator. Cook them just before assembling the wraps. The Caesar salad can also be prepped ahead, but keep the dressing separate and toss right before assembling.
Serving ideas
Serve the wraps immediately after toasting, while the tortilla is still crisp and the filling is hot. Cut in half diagonally to show off the layers and make dipping easier.
Offer extra Caesar dressing on the side for dunking, and pair with a simple side salad or roasted vegetables for a complete meal.
These wraps are also great for lunchboxes or picnics—just wrap them tightly in foil to keep them warm. For a lighter version, use whole wheat tortillas and a lighter dressing.
The spicy chicken pairs well with a cool, creamy dip like ranch or blue cheese, but the Caesar dressing keeps it classic.

Spicy Crispy Chicken Caesar Wrap Toasted Golden

Ingredients
- 1 lb chicken breast, sliced into strips
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 1/2 cups panko breadcrumbs
- 4 cups Caesar salad (romaine, dressing, parmesan)
- 4 large flour tortillas (10-inch)
- extra Caesar dressing, for dipping, to taste
Instructions
- Slice the chicken breast into 1-inch wide strips. In a small bowl, combine chili powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Sprinkle the seasoning over the chicken strips and toss to coat evenly. Place the beaten eggs in a shallow dish and the panko breadcrumbs in another. Dip each seasoned strip into the eggs, letting any excess drip off, then press into the panko until fully coated. Set the breaded strips on a plate.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add enough oil to coat the bottom. When the oil shimmers, carefully place the breaded chicken strips in a single layer. Cook for 3-4 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through. The internal temperature should reach 165°F (74°C). Transfer the cooked tenders to a plate and let them rest briefly while assembling the wraps.
- Lay a flour tortilla on a clean work surface. Pile about 1 cup of Caesar salad down the center of the tortilla, leaving a border at the top and bottom. Arrange hot sliced chicken tenders over the salad. Fold the bottom of the tortilla over the filling, then fold in the sides, and roll tightly into a sealed wrap. Repeat with the remaining tortillas and filling.
- Heat a clean skillet or griddle over medium heat. Place the wraps seam-side down and toast for 2-3 minutes per side, until golden brown and crackling. Press gently with a spatula to ensure even browning. Remove from the skillet and let cool for a minute before slicing in half diagonally. Serve with extra Caesar dressing for dipping.
