Tips for success
For the smoothest dip, stir the mixture once halfway through cooking. This helps distribute the heat and ensures the cream cheese melts evenly. If you prefer a chunkier texture, skip the stirring and let it cook undisturbed.
To keep the dip warm for a party, leave the Crockpot on the WARM setting. If the dip thickens as it sits, stir in a tablespoon of milk or chicken broth to loosen it. You can also keep the bagel chips in a separate bowl so they stay crunchy.
Variations
- Spicy Everything Dip: Add 1 teaspoon of crushed red pepper flakes or a few dashes of hot sauce to the dip before cooking. The heat balances the creamy richness and adds a kick.
- Veggie-Packed Dip: Stir in 1/2 cup of finely chopped roasted red peppers or artichoke hearts along with the other ingredients. This adds sweetness and texture.
- Smoked Trout Dip: Replace the smoked salmon with smoked trout for a different but equally delicious flavor. Flake the trout and remove any bones before adding.
- Herb and Chive Dip: Swap the fresh dill for chopped fresh chives and add an extra tablespoon of minced red onion. This gives a more onion-forward flavor.

You can assemble the dip up to 24 hours ahead by combining all ingredients in the Crockpot insert and refrigerating it covered.
When ready to cook, place the insert in the slow cooker and cook on LOW for 90 minutes, adding 15-20 minutes extra if starting from cold.
Serving ideas
Serve this dip warm, straight from the Crockpot, with toasted bagel chips, pita chips, or fresh vegetables like cucumber slices and bell pepper strips.
It also works as a spread for sandwiches or wraps. The dip is rich, so a little goes a long way.
For a brunch spread, pair it with fresh bagels, smoked salmon, and cream cheese. For game day, set it out with a variety of chips and crudités.
The dip is best enjoyed within the first hour, but it will stay warm and creamy for several hours on the WARM setting.

Crockpot Everything Bagel Smoked Salmon Dip

Ingredients
- 16 oz cream cheese, softened and cut into chunks
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 1/2 cups shredded white cheddar cheese
- 8 oz Nova smoked salmon (lox), flaked
- 3 tbsp capers, drained
- 2 tbsp fresh dill, chopped
- 1/4 cup minced red onion
- 2 tbsp everything bagel seasoning
- Toasted bagel chips, for serving
Instructions
- Add the cream cheese, sour cream, shredded white cheddar, flaked smoked salmon, capers, and fresh dill to the Crockpot insert. Stir gently with a mixing spoon until the ingredients are evenly distributed, breaking up any large chunks of cream cheese.
- Place the mixture into the ceramic Crockpot insert, spreading it into an even layer. The dip will melt and blend as it cooks, so no need to stir again until serving.
- Cover the Crockpot and set it to LOW. Cook for 90 minutes, until the dip is warm, bubbling softly at the edges, and the cheeses have fully melted. Stir once halfway through if desired for a smoother consistency.
- After the 90 minutes, sprinkle the everything bagel seasoning and minced red onion evenly over the top of the dip. Press them in lightly with a spoon so they adhere to the surface.
- Keep the Crockpot on the WARM setting. Serve the dip directly from the pot, scooping it up with toasted bagel chips. The dip will stay warm and creamy for hours.
