Tips for success
For extra crispy tacos, use a cast-iron skillet and make sure it's fully heated before adding the tacos. Don't move the tacos around too much while they cook; let them develop a crust before flipping.
If you're making a large batch, keep the cooked tacos warm in a 200°F (93°C) oven on a wire rack set over a baking sheet so they stay crisp.
The Alfredo sauce can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently over low heat, adding a splash of cream to restore its consistency.
The chicken filling can also be prepared in advance and kept refrigerated. When you're ready to serve, simply assemble and fry the tacos—this makes the recipe perfect for entertaining.
Variations
- Spicy Chicken Alfredo Tacos: Add 1/2 teaspoon of red pepper flakes or a dash of hot sauce to the Alfredo sauce for a spicy kick. You can also season the chicken with a pinch of cayenne pepper along with the other spices.
- Vegetarian Alfredo Tacos: Replace the chicken with sautéed mushrooms or roasted vegetables like zucchini and bell peppers. Cook them in the same butter and seasonings, then proceed with the Alfredo sauce and assembly.
- Baked Alfredo Tacos: Instead of pan-frying, arrange the assembled tacos on a baking sheet and bake at 400°F (200°C) for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway, until crispy and golden. This method is great for making a large batch.
- Chicken Alfredo Quesadillas: Use flour tortillas and make them as quesadillas: spread the chicken Alfredo mixture and cheese over one half, fold, and cook in a skillet until golden and the cheese is melted. Slice into wedges and serve with the dipping sauce.

Serving ideas
Serve these tacos as a fun weeknight dinner with a simple side salad or Mexican rice. They also make great party appetizers—cut them in half to make smaller bites.

The combination of flavors is sure to be a hit, and the contrast of textures will keep everyone coming back for more.

Crispy Chicken Alfredo Tacos with Garlic Alfredo Dipping Sauce

Ingredients
- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast, diced
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 8 corn tortillas
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for serving
Instructions
- In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium-high heat. Add the diced chicken breast in a single layer. Sprinkle with garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes. The chicken is done when it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C). Transfer the chicken to a plate and set aside.
- In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the heavy cream and minced garlic. Bring to a gentle simmer, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Cook for 2-3 minutes, then whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth and thickened. Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and toss to coat evenly with the sauce. Remove from heat.
- Brush one side of each corn tortilla with melted butter. Place the tortillas on a work surface, buttered side down. On one half of each tortilla, sprinkle a generous amount of shredded mozzarella, then top with a spoonful of the creamy chicken Alfredo mixture. Fold the other half over to enclose the filling, pressing gently to seal.
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Place the assembled tacos in the skillet, working in batches if needed. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until golden brown and crispy, and the cheese is melted. Use a spatula to gently press down on the tacos to ensure even browning. Transfer to a plate and repeat with the remaining tacos.
- In a small saucepan, combine the remaining Alfredo sauce (if any) or make a quick garlic Alfredo sauce by heating 1/2 cup heavy cream with 1 clove minced garlic and 1/4 cup grated Parmesan until thickened. Keep warm over low heat.
- Arrange the crispy tacos on a serving platter. Sprinkle with fresh chopped parsley. Serve immediately with the warm garlic Alfredo sauce for dipping.
