Tips for success
For the best texture, use chicken tenderloins rather than chicken breasts, as they cook more evenly and stay juicy. If you prefer a thicker sauce, remove the lid for the last 30 minutes of cooking to let some moisture evaporate.
You can also stir in a slurry of cornstarch and water if the sauce is too thin. To make it a one-pot meal, add a cup of frozen peas or green beans during the last 30 minutes.
If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Reheat gently on the stovetop or in the microwave, adding a splash of milk or broth to loosen the sauce if needed.
This dish also freezes well for up to 3 months—thaw overnight in the fridge before reheating. The flavors continue to develop, making it even better the next day.
Variations
- Add Bacon: Sprinkle 4 slices of cooked, crumbled bacon over the top before serving for a smoky, salty crunch that complements the creamy cheese sauce.
- Spicy Kick: Add 1/2 teaspoon of red pepper flakes or a diced jalapeño along with the cheese for a subtle heat that cuts through the richness.
- Vegetable Boost: Add 1 cup of frozen peas or green beans during the last 30 minutes of cooking for extra color and nutrients.
- Herb Infusion: Stir in 1 teaspoon of dried thyme or 2 tablespoons of chopped fresh parsley just before serving to brighten the dish.

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. The sauce may thicken as it cools; add a splash of milk or chicken broth when reheating to bring back a creamy consistency.
Reheat in the microwave or on the stovetop over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, until heated through. Do not leave at room temperature for more than 2 hours.
You can assemble the slow cooker the night before by layering all the ingredients in the insert, covering, and refrigerating. In the morning, place the insert in the slow cooker and cook on low as directed, adding about 30 minutes to the cooking time because the ingredients start cold. This is a great way to have dinner ready when you get home.
Serving ideas
Serve this creamy chicken and cauliflower over steamed jasmine rice, which soaks up the rich sauce beautifully. For a lower-carb option, serve over cauliflower rice or alongside a simple green salad.
The dish also pairs well with crusty bread for dipping into the sauce. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley or chives if desired, though the video keeps it simple.
For a complete meal, add a side of steamed green beans or a crisp cucumber salad. The creamy, cheesy sauce is rich, so balance it with something fresh and light. Leftovers can be repurposed as a filling for baked potatoes or as a topping for baked chicken. The dish is hearty enough to stand alone, but the rice is a perfect canvas for the sauce.

Creamy Crockpot Chicken Tenders with Cauliflower

Ingredients
- 2 lb chicken breast tenderloins
- 1 head cauliflower, cut into florets
- 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of broccoli soup
- 1 1/2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 2 tbsp butter, cut into pieces
- Cooked jasmine rice, for serving
Instructions
- Place the chicken tenderloins in a single layer in the bottom of a 6-quart slow cooker. Scatter the cauliflower florets evenly around and over the chicken. Spoon the condensed cream of broccoli soup over the top, spreading it slightly to cover some of the meat and vegetables.
- Sprinkle the shredded sharp cheddar cheese evenly over the top of the soup mixture. Dot with the butter pieces. Do not stir; leave the ingredients layered as they are.
- Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 4 hours, or until the chicken is fork-tender and cooked through to 165°F (74°C). The sauce will be bubbly and the cheese fully melted.
- Once the chicken is cooked through, gently stir the sauce to combine the melted cheese, soup, and cooking juices. Be careful not to break up the chicken too much—large tender pieces are ideal.
- Spoon the hot chicken and cauliflower mixture over cooked jasmine rice on serving plates. Serve immediately.
