Wash the corn and cut each ear in half. Scrub the baby potatoes and cut any larger ones in half so they cook evenly. Measure out the melted butter and lemon juice, and have your slow cooker ready.

Common mistakes
One common mistake is overcooking the seafood, which makes it chewy. Check the slow cooker at the lower end of the recommended time and adjust.
Another mistake is using too much liquid; the seafood releases its own juices, so you don't need to add extra broth. Also, avoid opening the lid during cooking, as this releases heat and can extend the cooking time.
How to tell it’s done
The seafood is done when the lobster tails are opaque and the shrimp are pink and firm to the touch. The internal temperature of the shellfish should reach 145°F (63°C).
The potatoes should be easily pierced with a fork. The sauce will be bubbling gently around the edges. Be careful not to overcook the seafood, as it can become tough.
- Shellfish: 145°F (63°C) in the thickest part
