Tips for success
For the best texture, use frozen meatballs that are already fully cooked. This ensures they stay tender and juicy during the long slow-cook.
If you prefer a spicier kick, add a dash of hot sauce or a pinch of cayenne pepper to the sauce mixture. You can also add a tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce for extra depth.
To keep the meatballs warm for hours, set the slow cooker to the warm setting after they are done. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
If the sauce thickens too much, add a splash of water or beef broth to loosen it. These meatballs are best served straight from the slow cooker, but they also hold up well in a chafing dish.
Variations
- Spicy Sriracha Glaze: Add 1–2 tablespoons of sriracha or your favorite hot sauce to the sauce mixture for a spicy kick. The heat balances the sweetness of the grape jelly, making the meatballs even more addictive.
- Cranberry Orange Twist: Swap the grape jelly for whole-berry cranberry sauce and add the zest of one orange. The tartness of cranberries pairs beautifully with the chili sauce, creating a festive flavor perfect for holiday parties.
- BBQ Bourbon Meatballs: Replace the grape jelly with apricot preserves and the chili sauce with your favorite barbecue sauce. Add 2 tablespoons of bourbon for a smoky, sweet glaze that's perfect for game day.
- Meatball Sliders: Serve the glazed meatballs on slider buns with a slice of provolone or cheddar cheese. The sweet-and-tangy sauce makes a delicious sandwich filling, and the sliders are a satisfying main course for casual gatherings.

Store any leftover meatballs in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Reheat gently in the microwave or on the stovetop, adding a splash of water if the sauce has thickened too much. The meatballs also freeze well for up to 3 months.
You can assemble the meatballs, jelly, and chili sauce in the slow cooker insert and refrigerate overnight. In the morning, simply place the insert in the slow cooker and cook on HIGH for 2 1/2 hours. This is a great make-ahead option for busy party days.
Serving ideas
Serve the meatballs directly from the slow cooker on the warm setting, with bamboo cocktail picks for easy grabbing.
They are perfect as a stand-alone appetizer, but also pair well with a side of ranch or blue cheese dressing for dipping. For a heartier spread, set them alongside other party favorites like sliders or veggie trays.
These meatballs also work as a main course over rice or noodles. The sweet-and-tangy sauce doubles as a delicious gravy.
For a festive touch, garnish with chopped fresh parsley or sesame seeds before serving, though the video keeps it simple with just the glazed meatballs.

3-Ingredient Grape Jelly Crockpot Meatballs for Parties

Ingredients
- 32 oz frozen homestyle beef cocktail meatballs
- 18 oz Concord grape jelly
- 12 oz chili sauce
Instructions
- Place the frozen meatballs in the bottom of a 6-quart slow cooker. Spoon the grape jelly over the meatballs, then pour the chili sauce over the top. Do not stir yet; the sauces will melt and combine as the slow cooker heats.
- After the jelly and chili sauce have softened slightly (about 10 minutes), stir everything together until the meatballs are evenly coated with the sauce mixture.
- Cover the slow cooker and cook on HIGH for 2 1/2 hours. The sauce will bubble and reduce, turning into a thick, glossy glaze that clings to the meatballs.
- After about 1 hour, give the meatballs a gentle stir to ensure even coating and to prevent sticking. Continue cooking for the remaining time.
- After 2 1/2 hours, check that the meatballs are cooked through. The internal temperature should read 160°F (71°C) on an instant-read thermometer. The sauce should be sticky and glaze-like.
- Transfer the slow cooker to the buffet table or keep it on the warm setting. Provide bamboo cocktail picks for guests to spear the meatballs directly from the slow cooker.
